Hillcrest Park Rural Enterprise Centre
17 Commercial Business Starter Units.
- Redevelopment of a semi-derelict former commercial workshop and filling station.
- Initially told development not possible due to pedestrian access safety concerns. Worked with highway design specialists and Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership to create a solution the planning authority were happy with, resulting in a pedestrian crossing refuge. (got photos)
- Strong partnership work with West Lindsey District Council Economic Development Department targeting small businesses in the rural economy allowed for the first ever commercial development loan to be awarded by West Lindsey District Council.
- Awarded almost £120k in LEADER Rural Enterprise non-repayable grants to specifically target jobs and employment for small businesses. (should I put the amount or not??)
- High quality design to provide desirable alternative to other commercial premises in the area, allowing a higher rental yield per sq/m.
- Design reflected ability to build in phases and build occupancy by constructing in 4 buildings in a courtyard style. Project was then stage built to suit client needs over a 4 year period.
- 17 industrial units, fully occupied. Featured on BBC Look North to show businesses who are thriving in challenging times (have video clips/images)
